Chelsea Says
Eco-Tip of the Week
Cut down on the consumption of plastic bags by carrying re-usable bags. Many of you may not realize but that those little plastic bags we all take 60 to 100 million gallons of barrels of oil to produce a year, kill over 100,000 sea creatures annually and take over 400 years to degrade naturally. An easy way to kick the plastic bag habit is to keep re-usable bags in your car; if you don't have a car they make them so small and compact these days that they can fit in your purse or pocket. They are sold everywhere from your local grocery store, your local mall and even your local Bodega. Stay Fresh Stay Green and kick that plastic bag habit! |

Hey everyone it's me again. After a few weeks of looking for a new/additional hustle with no luck :-/ I'm back with another entry. It's a COLD game! Since I am currently exploring avenues to find additional work in the “Green” industry I will give those who are interested a few pointers and insight as well.
Many of you may not know there is a Green Jobs movement currently in place. There is a lot of opportunity for job training and job placement out there. With the economy in a downward spiral this is a perfect opportunity for us, urban young people to gain some knowledge and training in the Green Industry. You may think working in the Green industry is just for highly educated suburban yuppies, but this is far from the truth. Believe it! This industry is for everyone urban, suburban, hyphy, lame... you name it!

Hey everyone, I'm officially in the building! This is the first entry of many more to come, read, enjoy, learn and comment. Feel free to email questions or suggestions for future installments or even better Twitter me @Chelsgoesgreen. It has only been 13 weeks since Barack Obama was inaugurated as our 44th President. Obama seeks to turn the page on Bush's anti-science policy, being a science nerd this is music to my ears :-) Now scientific rigor will be included in environmental decision making policy, unlike in the previous administration. Here is a quick run down for all you who aren't familiar with Obama's new Environmental policies and initiatives.
