Royalty Clothing

Royalty Clothing was created in November 2007 by Jamaican born fashionista Kimberly Gray, known to others as Ms. Diva. She as always had a love for trendy unique styles and incorporates that into her line. Each item was carefully designed in order to set apart from your usual styles that you see in today’s fashion trends creating its own identity. Royalty, represents luxury, sophistication and independence, these are the qualities that Royalty Clothing wants to portray to women of all cultures, backgrounds, ages and fashion styles. “I want to empower women to have self confidence in themselves so that others won’t treat them less than ‘Royalty’,” says Royalty founder Ms. Diva.

Royalty clothing’s, unique style of designs are usually bright colors with flashy expressions which makes each client stand apart building self representation of “Royalty”. In March, 2008 we have expanded our line by many request to include a men’s wear collection. The men’s wear is expected to be released this summer 2008. “I have so many ideas for my company, my baby and I am excited to see everything unfold,” says Ms. Diva. Royalty Clothing is a company that continues to expand in the works are trendy hand bags, jewelry and a couture line. The couture line, Royalty Couture will be released summer/fall 2008, this collection will include colorful trendy unique styled dresses and skirts. We are constantly coming up with different designs to create our individuality among other lines in order to continue our growth to become a successful line in the south Florida area.

Fashion Designer Kim GrayUrban Steez: Tell us you name and how long you been in to fashion?

My name is Kimberly “Ms Diva” Gray and I’ve been into fashion since the day I was in my mama womb, lol. I’ve actually started my line in 2007 but I’ve always been into fashion since I was very young.

Urban Steez: Why Fashion? What made you pursue fashion?

Why Fashion? Well fashion is statement everyone gets their point across by how they put their gear together, you know.  I pursue it because I wanted to make everyone understand why I am the way I am. Fashion saved my life because I was able to express myself.

Urban Steez: Tell us about your fashion line, what makes it unique, how you came about the name of your clothing line and all that jazz?

My line is Royalty! It’s unique because there isn’t any other clothing line like mine. I wanted other girls to feel that they are “Royalty” because we are. When women put on their favorite dress or pair of jeans or shoes they feel sophisticated, luxury and independence. Those qualities are exactly what my line is about.

Urban Steez: I can dig that! So who are you influences, your inspirations?

When it comes to designing my influences and inspirations are usually from clothing from the 80’s. When I mean 80’s I am talking about Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, Run DMC, door knockers, bamboo earrings, bright colors, funky hair and stone wash jeans. I am tryna bring it back to when hip hop was real hip hop, lol. I feel like if you understand were your coming from you will make it to where you want to go, and I am a product of the 80’s.

Urban Steez: Give us a fashion tip that can be useful?

Ladies purchase fashion tape it will save you from popping out and exposing your self. Another tip always wear accessories it will do magic for you.

Urban Steez: Tell us a fashion NO NO or a pet peeve?

OMG, I have so many but where do I start, lol. First ladies if you know your gut aka your belly is hanging out please, please don’t wear a shirt that is smaller than you. I think it makes you look as we say in Jamaican “Pop down”. It’s just not cute!!!

Urban Steez: Lol "Pop Down" huh!! I like that! So what are you 3 top, “Must haves” for fashion?

My 3 top “must haves” for fashion, ahh shoot that’s hard, lol. I would have to say accessories, because with out them your outfit may look like a flop. Accessories make or break your whole look. Second, heels yes ladies Imma do it like Kimora nothing less than 3 inches. Heels with jeans, shorts, skirts or dress makes you look sophisticated and sexy, the classy sexy. Finally, a big bag and ladies you know what I am talking about. I love bags and the bigger the better because you can carry your whole life and still be cute. I do tone it down when I am out clubbing though…

Urban Steez: Good stuff... Besides your clothing line, what clothing lines are you a fan of and why?

I love House of Dereon/ Dereon well the couture line which is House of Dereon Beyonce and her mother Tina Knowles design dresses that are so glamorous and its catwalk meets main street. Exactly what their mission statement is. Dereon because it’s another urban line but it’s different from Apple Bottoms and BabyPhat it’s like an exclusive line. It’s young, sexy and sophisticated and inexpensive.

The world literally fades to grey when we feel depressed, scientists have discovered.
To investigate links ????between mood disorders and vision, Emanuel Bubl at the University of Freiburg, Germany, and colleagues ran an electrode along one eye in each of 40 people with depression, and 40 people without. The electrodes measured activity in the nerves connecting photoreceptors to the optic nerve, but not the brain. ????Participants sat in a dimly lit room and watched a black and white chequered screen which became greyer in six distinct stages, reducing the contrast between each square. Each stage was presented for 10 seconds. ????The team found that electrical signals to the optic nerve were lower in people with depression. For example, when viewing the stage containing black and
????white squares, healthy volunteers had three times the nerve activity of those with depression, indicating that depression diminishes the ability to detect contrast. The more severe a person's depression, the worse their perception of contrast.????Bubl believes that a similar technique could be used to aid diagnosis of clinical depression.
