Angel Haze and I represent the West Coast, LA to be exact. Urban Steez: How did you come up with your music name? Angel Haze: There’s a really funny story behind my name. My favorite porn star is Jenna Haze and my middle name is Angel. I figured, well if I were going to become a porn star what would I call myself? Angel Haze. Its also very metaphorical, both names represent elevation, rather it be in spiritual form, or one influenced by substance. Urban Steez: Interesting, I can dig it! How long have you been doing music and what made you get into music? Angel Haze: I’ve been doing music for 2 years now, and my love for poetry provoked my interest in music, then from there a few others have had their hand inn making me who/what I am today. Urban Steez: How would you describe your style and why? And what do you feel you can bring to the table as an artist? Angel Haze: I am the Justice League to hip hop, I bring so much. I don’t have one style, I have many and each of them serve a different purpose. As an artist, I bring something refreshing and captivating to the table, I’m like a Gatorade commercial, just replenishing this dehydrated place. Urban Steez: Yea you are definitely lyrically replenishing. If you had to pick which label to be signed to what would it be and why? Angel Haze: Universal, the worlds best selling major record label. Urban Steez: What’s the biggest challenge you feel you face as an artist? Angel Haze: Being taken seriously, as a woman; There are so many stereotypes when it comes to female rappers, I don’t want them to exist when it comes to me. Urban Steez: If people don’t take you seriously, then it sucks for them! Who would you want to collaborate with in the music industry and why? Angel Haze: Any and everyone who doesn’t know what it is to be lyrically violated, id love to be their first. I’m kidding, I’d love to collaborate with Drake we’d be so lethal together. Urban Steez: Yea it would be a lyrical parade on the track… So how do you feel you rank against top music talents today? And why? What are you working on now and when can fans expect to hear more from you? Angel Haze: Im working on a new mixtape called “Altered Ego” , it’ll be dropping sooner than soon. Angel Haze: Drake, Siddhartha Guatama, the struggle, the grind, the evil in the world, the good in it too. Everything that inspires and keeps me motivated influences me. Urban Steez: What do you think of the hip hop/ music world right now? Angel Haze: It would be worth nothing if it weren’t for a few select names. A FEW. Urban Steez: I can only name three of top! Hip hop needs more artist on the depth chart, its too many talents out there but not enough scouts. What music do you have playing in your sound system right now? Angel Haze: Myself , my power remix.
