However, Joshua James Caughman aka Charm So is ready to give Brooklyn back it’s voice, thus putting it back on the map! Despite his struggles, Charm So has taken the low points in his life and has completely turned himself into a neighborhood celebrity. He says, “I want to perfect the right image. I represent a new vision in the game. I know I'm unstoppable”.
Fortunately, the young rapper has been able to do things other hungry artists only dream of. Charm So! has stepped into recording booths with some of today’s hottest artists and was featured in the “Who Got Skillz” competition. He’s been hosted as “Unsigned Hype” on DJ Lazy K’s “Get Used to the Future Vol. 4” hosted by former Koch artist Max Biggavelli  . Not only does Charm So! have the streets buzzing, but he even has the blogosphere on lock!

As the cliché’ says, “Good things come to those who wait". And indeed they do! Charm So! is now celebrated as an “Up and Coming Artist” acclaimed by BET’s “Perfect Combination Reese Challenge”. As the winner of the Northern region, Charm So! won a first class trip to the 2008 BET Awards and a video shoot with MTV.
Charm So’s talent isn’t limited to just rhyming, he’s also a fashion icon! As the assistant to the Fashion Editor of The Source magazine known to the world as “The Hip-Hop Bible”, he’s been able to acquire strong relationships with the industry’s finest such as Russell Simmons and DJ Craig O to name a few which has definitely given him the upper hand to knock out his competition.

Urban Steez: Tell everybody your name and what area you represent?

Charm So! : Born Joshua Caughman and stomped every area of Brooklyn, NY for 21 Yrs

Urban Steez: How did you come up with your music name?

Charm So! : My mother was heavy into theater arts Romeo and Juliet and when I was born she called me her little prince charm. and the So just comes from Joshua you drop the j the h u a put the s in front of the o and you get the So! .it does help that I have some Charisma as well...lol...Tute Tute.(Smile)

Urban Steez: Damn I guess lol.. How long have you been doing music and what made you get into music?

Charm So! : I've been doing music since milk cartons and lunch tables Mann.lol...I was a dancer at first and battling a long time in Brooklyn but never felt respect. As it is a art form of Speech through motion I felt like I had more to say, the expression I saw on faces when I gave them the right tools and opportunity to know more then what was presented to them through words it began a spark to open the minds of others that has never been heard, I gave them a voice.

Urban Steez: How would you describe your style and why? And what do you feel you can bring to the table as an artist?

Charm So! : Style is such an up scene expression!  A lot of people don't take it as a self thing, it’s more of an "I have to do this because everybody else has it ". Once I stopped that notion I grew into my own skin and I started seeing things that appeal to me and not anybody else, it could be a fringe to a light classic ... As long as it describes who I am and says not afraid of risk, then I'm on deck Boutique to over seas to around the corner it just speaks out. And as a artist.that's all I can be a artist that paint pictures through lyrics giving everybody the loners voice the guy on the side of the road, the hitchhiker ,given him or her a voice ..I don't know what I can bring yet I'm still Cooking. (Smile)

Urban Steez: Word, I feel you! If you had to pick which label to be signed to what would it be and why?

Charm So! : I feel that there is a lot of opportunity for Charm So! to grow. If there is a label home for me that has the best interest of Charm So! and I can get the guidance and work hand and hand, side by side, then fine I'm all for it ! But, I do see a lot of opportunity on Interscope, I see a lot on Def jam as well as Indies star trak G.o.o.d music, Next selection. As Long as it’s for the music and not just numbers, the numbers will come.

Urban Steez: That’s Wassup!Who would you want to collaborate with in the music industry and why?

Charm So! :( Wow ) look what your saying ...Do I even have to stress to say Bobby Womack , Kool and the Gang , all the soul musicians that had “The” in front of every name lol.., the Commodores , the Delofonics , the Temptations , lol, Stevie, Prince ..! It’s so much to name the females, the technicians, the owners of the Root of this Tree of Music. I would want to learn and sponge every last blood sweat and tear that has been given. Then you know all the relevant chart toppers.

Urban Steez: Okay , okay I see your angle…With that being said name your top 3 artist?

Charm So! : Cant! Lol.. Sorry

Urban Steez: Ha I see..What are you working on now and when can fans expect to hear more from you?

Charm So! : I'm Working on my Mix tape EP as we speak "The Hitchhikers Thumb "for a early Release Summer 09 and for further ear infections lol...just tune into the media , From Blogs To Shows to Publications and radio .. Just a constant hands on, I always stay in touch!

Charm So! : Learning. Growing and some Ink Drying God willing

Urban Steez: Who and what are your influences?

Charm So! : Mother Nature, and Day to Day, every thing around you is inspirational, never a dull moment.

Urban Steez: That’s right , never a dull moment..What do you think of the hip hop/ music world right now?

Charm So! : Its well over evolving, there is a lot of numbers and no heart and soul. Music changes with the times, so it’s to be expected. I guess Charm So! Will just have to adapt.

Charm So! : Ryan Leslie, some alternative sounds, ballets and exclusives.
