 Born in the mid 1980's in the gang and drug infested city of Compton, Ca. Deuce was given a first hand look at the reality of ghetto America. Being raised in such a troubled community has had a major influence on him, as a man, and as an artist. It has taught him that tomorrow isn't promised, which ignites his drive and excellent work ethic. He began free styling at the age of 11, and at 12 he began writing rhymes, used as his way to vent his frustration due to the untimely death of his brother. He passed time by experimenting with lyrics, drum machines, and turntables that his parents bought him for Christmas. But it was writing lyrics that kept his attention at all times. In the summer of 2004 Deuce began to take rapping seriously, deciding that this would be his career of choice. He formed a group called "The Hustlas" with group mates Black and Ding. In March of 2007, after a few years, nearly 100 songs, and several potential record deals that never materialized, he decided to pursue a solo career. Since then he has released a mixtape "Patiently waiting vol. 1" which gave listeners a vivid look at life through the eyes of a young man growing up in the ghetto. This included street favorites Perfect Beat, and Bonafide Hustla. He's currently working on his second mixtape "Patiently Waiting vol. 2", which should hit the streets late spring 2008. Deuce has an unusual ability to rap about subjects that would be categorized as "conscious", such as politics, and poverty but does it in such a heartfelt way he has formed a strong connection with the streets. He states " I refuse to compromise myself as an artist, I will say what needs to be said but will do so in a way that everyone can relate to, one way or another". With his god given talent, relentless work ethic, and ability to captivate listeners, leaving them hanging on the every word, Deuce will be a force in Hip Hop for many years to come. Get ready!!

Urbansteez:Tell us your name, where you are from and or what area do you represent? Deuce :Deuce, from Compton California Urbansteez:How long have you been pursuing a career in the music industry? Deuce :I’ve been seriously pursuing this for almost 4 years. Urbansteez:As an artist who would you compare yourself to and why? Deuce :I don’t see any comparison with any artist up and coming, and although im similar to a couple mainstream artist. I haven’t accomplished anything yet, so it would be unfair to do so. So as for now I wouldn’t compare myself to anyone.
Deuce :I would have to say Rocafella, I feel they have this most talent and has had the biggest impact over the past decade. I want to be apart of a winning team. Urbansteez: Who are your biggest influences? Deuce :My biggest influence is 2Pac Shakur, his work ethic was impeccable and he addressed issues that were neglected, and did it with a passion never seen before. Nas, Jay Z, and Eminem have also influenced my artistry. Urbansteez:Who in your future would you want to collaborate with and why? Deuce :Producers Dre, Quick, and Timberland. What they do is amazing so different, but all pioneers of Hip Hop. Artist Nas, Jay Z, Lupe Fiasco, and Eminem. Urbansteez:What are you working on now, and when can we expect to hear more of you? Deuce :I’m currently working on patiently waiting Vol. 2, a few complications and mixtapes. Also a group album but it’s to o early to go into details. You will be seeing and hearing a lot of me just keep your ears and eyes open. Urbansteez:What will you do with your first royalty check? Deuce :Buy a house. I want to be a home owner A.S.A.P. every thing else can wait. Urbansteez:When you make it big, what car will you first purchase? Deuce :I haven’t given that much thought, but I will buy my mother a 645 BMW. That’s what she wants. Urbansteez:How can fans contact you in the future (myspace, email, PO box, etc.)??
