ElizUrban Steez: Tell everybody your name and what area you represent?

Elíz: “My name is Elíz (e-leese) and I represent the Fayetteville, NC area, also known as the 2-6”. “2-6 Baby! LOL”

Urban Steez: How long have you been doing music and what made you get into music?

Elíz: “I’ve been doing music since the tender age of four, but didn’t really notice my ‘gift’ until I wrote my very first song and sang it in the Children’s church choir at age seven. What made me get into music, I was on my way back home from a family trip and while in the car, Destiny’s Child song, ‘No, No, No’, was on the radio and it hit me so hard and I was sure I wanted to sing professionally.”

Urban Steez: Wow , wrote your first song at 7!!  You definitely was born to sing…How would you describe your style and why? And what do you feel you can bring to the table as an artist?

Elíz: “If I had to describe my style, I would compare it to a ‘kaleidoscope’. Why? My style is passion-filled, sexy, fever-pitched, life of the party, charismatic, VIVACIOUS, and thought-provoking. As an artist, I feel I can bring to the table a level of sensitivity and sensibility that could inspire a whole new generation.”

Urban Steez: Sounds good to me! What do you feel is the biggest challenge you face being an artist?

Elíz: “The biggest challenge that I could face as an artist obviously would be not being totally prepared when opportunity knocks on the door.”

Urban Steez: Who would you want to collaborate with in the music industry and why?

Elíz: “I would love to collaborate with Chaka Khan. I used to watch ‘Reading Rainbow’ every time I came home from elementary school and I would rush to the television just to hear her sing the theme song.”

Urban Steez: I NEVER KNEW THAT WAS CHAKA KHAN SINGING!!! WOW Haha.. the memories! That was my show back then. So how do you feel you rank against top music talents today? And why?

Elíz: “Granted that there are A LOT of talented musicians today, I feel like I am just as talented and when the opportunity is presented, I am CERTAIN that I will rise to the top and beyond.”

Urban Steez: What are you working on now and when can fans expect to hear more from you?

Elíz: “Currently I am working on completing my first solo album and my fans can hear more from me if they visit ‘Urban Steez’ or a number of my sites online, mainly www.reverbnation.com/elizcamacho. Check it out!”

Urban Steez: Sounds Good! Be sure to let us know when the solo drops, looking forward to it. Where do you see yourself a year from now?

Elíz: “Honestly, I vision myself as a successful entertainer and business woman.”

Urban Steez: Nice. Who and what are your influences?

Elíz: “First and foremost my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, my loving, intelligent, beautiful mother, my sweet and caring grandmother,  my wonderful manager, my family and all my supporters.”

Urban Steez: What do you think of the hip hop/ music world right now?

Elíz: “Honestly, I think the hip hop/music world is in a good place at this present time and the Elizworld will have to continue to listen for what more is to come.

Urban Steez: What music do you have playing in your sound system right now?

Elíz: “I have my own music playing in my car system and on my iPod I have ABBA, Jzabehl, Enya, Basement Jaxx, Stacy Lattisaw, Tracy Chapman, and Mariah Carey.”

Urban Steez: You know a lot of musical diversity equals infinite creative range, good stuff. Who is your celebrity crush?

Elíz: “I don’t have one.”

Urban Steez: I see you’re focused!! How can business heads and fans contact you in the future (myspace, email, number, etc.)?

Elíz: “For all music/business purposes, please contact my manager at 646.591.4263. My fans can check me out at reverbnation.com/elizcamacho, facebook.com/elizmusic, and twitter.com/isaweliz.”

Urban Steez: Any shout outs?
