Unsigned Hype J-Eye

HOT Music PLUS A Dapper Image MULTIPLIED by tight production & hit song writing ability EQUALS a sure Mutli-Million Dollar Deal, Right? Wrong! In todays music industry with sales down and illegal downloads on the rise, labels want artist to put their money where their mouth is. "Invest in yourself before we invest in you" is what they say, Artist/Song-Writer/Producer J-EyE has heard that song before and has vowed to reach the masses with or without major label assistance.

Reported meetings with Interscope and Sony Execs as well as Keyshia Coles manager Manny have all concluded with the same result, they all love the music but insist that J-EyE pop the record off himself. With no substantial budget of his own J-EyE crossed paths with an invester who was down to ride or die for the music, and back the project 100%. Since acquiring financial backing J-EyE has released his debut album "iBelieve" independently on itunes and is set to continue to release quality music consistently. "I am gonna out work and out smart these other dudes and let the music speak for itself."

After spending some time in Miami working with super-producers Timbaland and Danjahandz, J-EyE returned back home to Brooklyn New York with a mission. That mission was to create undeniable timeless music. With that formula, whether it be written, produced or performed by him, he inspires, involves and entices his musical audience. Combining an ambitious and aggressive blend of Hip-Hop, R&B and Pop, J-EyE's material will keep dance floors packed all night and listeners anxious for more.

Urban Steez interview with J-Eye

J-EyeUrban Steez: Tell everybody your name and what area you represent?

The name is J-EyE (pronounced jay-i) and I represent Brooklyn, NY.

Urban Steez: How did you come up with your music name?

J –Eye: Well J-EyE basically means ”‘eye on the journey”. I represent everybody with a journey (or a dream) and the only way to accomplish those things is to work hard, stay focused and keep your “eye on your journey”.

Urban Steez: Very creative… So, how long have you been doing music and what made you get into music?

J –Eye: I have been creating music for like 12 years, I feel like I was born to touch people through speech, so I chose music. I love the fact that people can be inspired positively by music. Not to mention my passion for music in general.

Urban Steez: That’s wassup!  How would you describe your style and why?

J –Eye: I would describe my music as “Hip-Pop” because it’s an infectious blend of Hip-Hop, Pop and R&B. I refuse to be put in a genre box, so I just make music for the world as a whole.

Urban Steez: Yea man, I can definitely relate after hearing your music. Your like a bit of timberland, polo, and Will.i.am…. Just all around creative!! If you had to pick which label to be signed to what would it be and why?

J –Eye: I would definitely go with Interscope because of the genius of Jimmy Iovine and the marketing power they have over there.

Urban Steez: Niiiiiice… Who would you want to collaborate with in the music industry and why?

J –Eye: There’s a couple on that list but for starters I would love to collaborate with Will .i. Am

Urban Steez: I already know that would be a dope collab, REAL TALK!! What are you working on now and when can fans expect to hear more from you?

J –Eye: We just released my single "I Get Around" and it’s getting great reviews and some spins all over the world. I’m working on putting together a tour for this summer. Also, I have a production company called “Welcome to HitLand” and we are currently working on a few projects. Look out for Jay Charles & Phenomenal-Li. I’m in the studio everyday so new music is a guarantee!!!

Urban Steez: That a definite, sounds like a good deal. Do you have any influences?

J –Eye: Some of my influences are Quincy Jones, 2Pac, Diddy, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Mase & Timbaland.

Urban Steez: I can dig that!! What do you think of the hip hop/ music world right now?J-Eye

J –Eye: I feel like there’s a lot of talent out there but yet and still there are artists who are afraid to step out of their comfort zone and try new things. As far as New York goes, I would love to see the passing of the torch. When I say that, I mean I would love to see artists like Jay-Z, Nas, and 50 usher in some new talent from the place they got their start.

Urban Steez: That’s real man… What do you feel you bring to the music game as far as your music is concerned?

J –Eye: I feel like I bring a quality musical experience every time. After listening to one of my joints I want people to walk away with a feeling I call a “musical orgasm” lol.

Urban Steez: Lol, Intense! I don’t know if I would want my girl to listen to your tracks lol ….Who is in your sound system right now?

J –Eye: Right now, honestly, I’m listening to Prince and The Jackson 5. lol

Urban Steez: That’s probably why your music comes from so many angles, your music is fire. Who is your celebrity crush?

J –Eye: Taraji P. Henson, that’s my chick!!! lol

Urban Steez: Imma have to agree with you on that one!! How can business heads and fans contact you in the future (myspace, email, number, etc.)?

J –Eye: Check me out at www.myspace.com/jeyemusic and follow me on twitter @ www.twitter.com/jeyemusic. For all SERIOUS business inquires send a message to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Urban Steez: Any shot outs?

J –Eye: Shout out to you guys at Urban Steez for doing this interview. Shout out to all the supporters and future supporters of the J-EyE movement and also shout out to the whole One Way Entertainment & Welcome To HitLand staff.

Love & Live Life.
