 SuGIRL aka Sugar is a female singer/producer/pianist. Borne in 18/05/1983. Unlike most of female singers, SuGIRL is a beat maker and songwriter too. She says " We girls can do it too"!!! SuGirl's passion for music started at the age of 7 when she was studying classical music. Her passion for music grew and Su started to experiment with sampling, production, home recording, and sound engineering. Su is always in search for new sounds when it comes to beat making. She takes her inspirations from different styles of music hip hop, R&b , pop, rock, chill out-u can find good stuff in all the genres. Her style is described as mixture of neu-soul, urban, r&b -the future of the music. Its fresh !!! SuGIRL is working on her first album at the moment. She moved to London in search of new inspirations. Thanks to her unique voice and her music productions she got a lot of attention from various producers and started to collab with the best.

Sugirl: Was up people! It's Su' Girl aka Sugar (Su'Girl pronounced as Sugar). I originally come from Poland but I moved to London in order to pursue my career in music industry. Urbansteez.com: How long have you been pursuing a career in the music industry? Sugirl: It all started when I was little girl I was studying classical music (piano and saxophone) for 8 years playing Chopin, Beethoven, Bach tunes . So I have to admit I have really solid music education. But I was always attracted to jazz, hip hop and R&B so I started to take singing lessons and gradually started collecting equipment to produce music I love composing and songwriting, searching for new sounds that's where the fun starts! I moved to London a year and a half ago and since than I've been working on my album with some amazing producers. Urbansteez.com: What were you into before music? Sugirl: I done my Degree in Linguistics (so now I speak 4 languages), worked as office manager. I can't complain but whatever I achieved in life I was never satisfied cause music was the only thing I could think about. The thought of coming back home and recording tunes was the only thing that kept me going. So my focus right now is to finish my ep and get in touch with labels that would be interested to release my album. I think it's important to have some goals in your life and pursue them. It makes your life more valuable. Urbansteez.com: 4 Languages, Niiiice! As an artist how would you describe your style and why? Sugirl: Sugar style?Man it's fresh and sweet, its like a summer breez, or pink candies:lol production wise I wouldn't like to categorize my music as it's a blend of many contemporary styles a bit of r&b, a bit of hip hop, a bit of chill out a bit of urban. U know I listen to everything, everything... I got so many influences starting from Michael Jackson, Steve Wonder, J. Dilla, Jermaine Dupre, Beady Belle, Herbie Hancook, Marcus Miller; I do not like to categorize music...As long as something moves me-its good and no matter whether its hip hop, r&b, rock or club music. There is good stuff in any genre. When it comes to my singing I'm strongly influenced by soul / r&b vibes. I get quite a lot from people saying my voice sounds sweet...? That's how my stage name was created...I'ma girl giving some sweet vibez thru her music so I figured out Su'Girl(pronounced as Sugar) would be cool. Urbansteez.com: What have you learned in your pursuit to fame? Sugirl: You know I'm just trying to do my thing. I love music making that's the only thing in life that makes me going. I'm not rushing anything though. You need to stay faithful to yourself and to what you really want to achieve in life .I strongly believe music is my future and if you believe in something and work really hard than hey-‘sky is the limit'. Nothing is impossible, u can do whatever in life, u can be doctor , u can be teacher, u can be economist. Its all in your hands. Urbansteez.com: Thats wassup! If you had your pick which label to be signed to, which label would it be and why? Sugirl: Well there are many labels in Uk and Us I would be interested to be signed with but I need to say if I got a call from Star track.... man I would be the happiest person in the world. I love their productions. Tunes they make are so fresh. I think their music is very experimental but commercial at the same time, their music is different than anything. They are not afraid to push the envelope and take that risk to surprise people with something new, innovative. Star track definitely stands out of the crowd... Urbansteez.com: STAAAAAR TRAAACK!! I can see you on that label fa real!! Who in your future would you want to collaborate with and why? Sugirl: Jermaine Dupri , Ryan Leslie, and Pharrell, He's the man! Urbansteez.com: What are you working on now, and when can we expect to hear more of you? Sugirl: I got few things in the oven: tv show where u will be able to see your girl Sugar in action making that beats but mainly I focus now on recording to my 1-st album and trying to develop my skills as a singer. Urbansteez.com: Who are your influences? Sugirl: Well I'm inspired by many people and different genres but I must admit one of my greatest influences are The Neptunes, J.Dilla, Michael Jackson, Steve Wonder-they are quality. I can never get enough of these guys. Urbansteez.com: What do you think of the music world right now? Sugirl: Well there are good and bad sides of contemporary music. Music production has developed and changed a lot since 80's. U got much Sugirl: more styles nowadays which give listeners Urbansteez.com: Where do you see yourself a year from now? Sugirl: Well I hope I will be blessed to keep on making music and I hope to have finished my album by than so hopefully some serious deals will come into the game. Urbansteez.com: Cool!! What will you do with your first royalty check? Sugirl: I will probably throw a full-blown party to say thank you to everyone who contributed to my success. Urbansteez.com: When you make it big, what car will you first purchase? Sugirl: Well, I love sport cars, It will be a black turbo Porche:) without no doubt... There is something about this girl, I have watched the video and she could create a music without any background just with her voice and that is what real musicians can do, she could keep up moment of magic, she can bring a melody to its life. Also as far as I know she is producing her songs by herself ! That's really SOMETHING. SuGirl is using very interesting chords ,not only basic ones but also jazzy , alterated which brings more musical space and makes her music more deep even if her sound-enviroment has an entertiment , R&B character.

more options. The styles are quite often blended together, which gives an interesting mixture of sounds. I think the future of the music is experimenting, searching for new sounds. I'm not really happy about the sound nowadays, there is a tendency to over compressing everything and it kills the warmth that 80's tunes have. Beside that I think 80's tunes had more soul, more sense when nowadays a lot of tunes are just noise with no message.
..We should work one day.
