Van Jones ResignationOn Sunday September 6, Van Jones resigned from his position as “Green Jobs Czar.” A sad day for all advocates of the Green Jobs movement. For those who are not familiar with Jones, he is an environmental advocate, author and civil rights activist and lawyer. To make a long story short Van Jones has dedicated his life to fighting for justice. Click on his name above to learn more about his life and career. I think he is Super interesting! Like most activist he has been viewed as radical, leftist, and even a communist or Marxist, just absurd. What's wrong with being radical?! Does everyone have to follow the so-called norm? I don't think so! But unfortunately too many people in this country disagree with me. There has been a huge push by the right-wing to slander Jones' name and work. Most recently there has been great controversy over a petition he supposedly signed on 911Truth.org, this inevitably led to his resignation, which was by choice. I totally respect him for that; Jones did not want all the slander and vile reports by those like Glenn Beck and members of our own Senate to distract from the Health Care Reform and clean energy campaigns. "On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Van Jones Personally the fact that he was essentially forced to resign because of slander and absurd allegations really angers me. He is not perfect by any means but he had a proven track record of fighting for all people and has a strategy to help green our country's industries and clean up some of the mess we have made as humans.
