The other day my girls and I were talking about men and who everyone was dating when I realized, I'm really not dating any of these men I talk to. We text, we talk, we "kick it," but when's the last time a guy legitimately asked me to dinner or to grab a drink? I have not the slightest idea. My girls and I quickly determined, nobody really dates anymore. It's all "you wanna come over and watch a movie until I try to stick my hand in your pants?" or "Oh you can cook, cook me dinner sometime, I'll bring a movie." Hanging out was cool in high school and for the first year of college, but I was promised bigger and better things in my 20's. My mom told me tales of dinner dates, quick lunches between classes, and grabbing drinks at happy hour after work. Nobody prepared me to be 25 and still getting last minute texts asking if I want to "watch a movie" tonight. Maybe I'm too old school, maybe my game isn't as tight as I thought, maybe I should start dating older men, but what happened to good old fashioned dating?
