Our generation has it hard when it comes to dating. Things are different than when out parents met and fell in love. For those of us not looking for a one night stand, who work too much, and who don't want to meet our future significant other in a bar, meeting quality members of the opposite sex is like finding cheap tickets to a Giants game this season, it rarely happens. Being that I fall into 3 out of 3 of those categories, I wanted to try something different than what I'm currently doing. My mom suggested I try online dating. I was appalled. No chance in hell I'm paying to date someone, it's desperate, embarrassing, and not to sound cocky (like I care), but I'm kind of a catch, I'm just busy. More to get my mom to stop giving me a 45 minute explanation on why it's not depserate, I signed up. If anything it would give me some awesome stories, which I'm always game for! But I quickly discovered that online dating is kind of like shopping, better yet, shopping for men. It's genius. Shopping and men are two of my favorite things in the world, why did nobody tell me about this sooner? I'm officially never judging anyone again for online dating, it's a great way to meet new people, especially if you're new to the area. And you can filter out what you're looking for in a mate or friend. Best of all, between the 45 year old men sending me messages, foreigners sending me their phone numbers, and the woman who claims I'm her perfect match (I'm not gay...), there are going to be stories keeping me rollin' for a good year.
