Once upon a time, you were out of your damn mind.  More and more, I see people in bad relationships. You know who you are. You break up every five minutes, you argue on the daily, your significant other is jealous, controlling, and you have to make excuses as to why your partner did or didn't do something/hurt your feelings. In other words, your boyfriend/girlfriend is bat shit crazy! Yet you're still together. I don't pretend to be a know it all when it comes to relationships, but when it comes to this type of failed relationship, I have a great resume. I've stayed in a relationship for 6 months longer than I should, telling myself arguing is normal, I'm being too demanding, nothing is perfect, blah blah blah. The thing I've learned, and please write this down, it is better to be single and happy with who you are and where you're at, than miserable with some nut job who is all wrong for you because you don't want to be alone. It never gets better and you will never have a successful relationship, until you learn what a healthy one looks like. I say this not because I care about you; at this point, I say this because I want to stop listening to your complaints and I want to stop watching you make bad decisions on repeat. Grow a pair, be an adult, and make the right decision. Break up. For reals. Not for Thursday-Monday. In high school, it was expected, in college, it was learning, now, it's just pathetic. It's irresponsible and it's not a good look. I've got work, my health, my fantasy football team, and all the beautiful shoes in my closet to occupy my time. Stop bringing me down, stop bringing your friends and your family down, open your eyes, and let's make some bold moves. Everybody out there has a somebody. And no matter how much it hurts now, when you find the real deal, it overrides all that pain, and you'll wonder why you ever wasted so much of your time. Let's face it, you're not getting any younger, and the longer you're miserable, the less time you have for the hearts, flowers, candles and moonlit walks on the beach. I just love a happy ending.
