Unsigned Hype Big Worm

The New Jersey native rapper Big Worm-born David Williams Jr. in Willingboro, NJ is not your ordinary East Coast rapper.  Born the youngest of 11 children and 13 years after his closest sister, Worm experienced growing with a big family yet, at the same time growing up alone in a household with all of his siblings moved out with their own family. But, it is those holidays where the whole family would celebrate together that Worm credits to his passion to wanting to be a rapper.  Watching his older brothers, nephews, and cousin all cipher around the house at times was what he looked forward to the most every holiday.  As Worm got older and started playing sport he never gave up on rap, but after constantly hearing everyone tell him how he needed to be on the football field because of his size, he found another love in doing just that.  Football helped Worm through high school and helped him into college.  After getting hurt at the beginning of his college football career, Worm began making every effort to pursue rap.  From his appearance Worm would probably be considered another punchline rapper trying to break into the music business as a gangster rapper, but once he begins to deliver bars you see he is nothing of that kind.

While in school, Worm sharpened his lyrical skills, started recording and performing at bars, talent shows, and fashion shows.  With one semester to go, the birth of his son made him realize that it was time to either give it all or nothing. Not giving up with his education like other rappers, Worm achieved a bachelor's degree. Armed with a combination of street knowledge and a college degree, it is those two factors that drive him to separate himself from other rappers signed or unsigned.  With his new mixtape/street album I Got Dat Product hosted by DJ Ophax, Worm is set to prove that he is not like any other MC.  This first single Kokaine is just the statement explaining why he is different.  Along with his hit Big Boy Dance that shuts every party down he performs at and 12 other cuts, I Got Dat Product is proof that Hip Hop's heart is still beating.

Urbansteez.com: What were you into before music?

Big Worm: Umm.. to keep it funky wit u I was a school boy! I was a football player and graduated from West Liberty State College. I thought I was in love wit playing ball but music was a something I never could stay away from.

Urbansteez.com: As an artist how would you describe your style and why?

Big Worm: I know everybody is asked this question and always give the same answer but once u listen to my shit you gonna see why I would describe my style as versatile figgadeal me...I can switch up and give you whatever u in the mood for club, street, real life story its whatever I feel like at that moment in time.

Urbansteez.com: If you had your pick which label to be signed to, which label would it be and why?

Big Worm: Real talk...I would sign with whatever label would let me put my music out the way I want to.  Most artist would say whoever would cut the biggest check, but Im different type of nigga figgadeal me...so to me the most important thing is not being made into something Im not...I feel the money will come if its done right

Urbansteez.com: That's wassup!! Who in your future would you want to collaborate with and why?

Big Worm: Off top my favorite rapper is DMX so of course I would have to say the X man, Buddens, The Lox, Redman, Meth, Beans, Freeway, Eminem, Treach, Rakim, Busta, Missy, Mos Def, LL, Nas, Remy Ma, Bank$, Jae Millz, Lupe, Ice Cube, Da Brat, Krs One, Fab, Erick Sermon, Outkast, Weezy,Talib, and Ludacris figgadeal me cause to me a collabo is like a competion so would would wanna see what those artist could bring out of me and vice versa...Also I would like to get on some R&B joints with people like Music Soulchild, MJB, Ashanti,Kelly Rowland, Rubben Studdard, Tyrese, Alicia Keys, R. Kelly, Neyo, Lyfe, Jill Scott, oh and Michael Jackson...

Urbansteez.com: What are you working on now, and when can we expect to hear more of you?

Big Worm: At the moment I just released my new mixtape I Got Dat Product hosted by DJ Ophax so my next move is to promote and push that project as much as I can figgadeal me...its all original songs on there with one freestyle and a couple skits...I acutally just finish shooting the video to the first single Kokaine prod. by DJ Ophax that's gonna be crazy...so people can hear a few of the joints on my myspace page and they can purchase a copy of the mixtape on there too...

Urbansteez.com: Who are your influences?

Big Worm: Most importantly my son GQ cause I'm actually not living for myself anymore Im living for him figgadeal me. Music wise anybody that put out music before me whether it was bad or good.  The reason I say that is because if they put out something wack...I can look at it and see what they did wrong and why nobody liked it and if it was something hot...I can see what made people like it.

Urbansteez.com: What do you think of the hip hop / music world right now?

Big Worm: To me the game is evolving and I honestly don't feel like Hip Hop is dead.  I think any artist in the game that feel it is...should been ashamed of themselves cause its obvious there not doing nothing to put life back into it.  I believe with all the gimmick rappers coming out with basically just beats and no lyrically ability at all has got thins in bad shape but all that means is Hip Hop need to get back in the gym figgadeal me.  Take it like this, a baby is born, grows ups, matures, and then moves out.  That's all the game is doing right now...it was born in the Bronx, grew up and moved out down South.  I mean if you look at it everybody down south is helping each other out...doing songs together and putting each other on.  Where up north everybody is to busy trying to prove that they're better then the next person not wanting to help the next person once they're in a position to...why do you think the south is killing the game the way they are.  There is still a few New York artist that will put something out that will make the game come home and visit for a little bit but just not enough to move back home yet.

Urbansteez.com: What will you do with your first royalty check?Unsigned Hype Big Worm

Big Worm: Get my sister a kidney transplant.  She been sick her whole life and we basically never had the loot to get her one.  There was a time in high school that we couldn't find a good match and I basically was the only good one we knew of but she wouldn't take it because she felt that if I was to get hit in my kidney area playing ball after giving her one and then something happen to me...she wouldn't be able to live with herself.  After I gave up playing football I sort of felt like I gave up on her so that would be my chance to make up for that.

Urbansteez.com: I feel that man, I wish your sister the best! When you make it big, what car will you first purchase?

Big Worm: A Lincoln navigator for my pops.  He always wanted one but never could afford it.

Urbansteez.com: What's in your sound system right now?

Big Worm: Umm...at the moment let me see me...myself...oh and me hahaha...nah real talk I got that J Holiday popping off in there, Elephant in the Sand G-Unit mixtape, Joe Buddens MM3 in there, my nigga Napoleon Suarez album American Scholar in there and I Got Dat Product hosted by DJ Ophax (available now) is in there.

Urbansteez.com: Which female in the game would you pursue first and why?

Big Worm: With no hesitation Im tryna get Ashanti.  No disrespect to the dude Nelly but I she is just absolutely beautiful to me.  And I'm not on no stalker or obsessed with her type shit figgadeal me...I would just love to take her out and see what type a person she is.

Urbansteez.com: lol, I figgadeal you my dude... Based off that last video I saw her in, the bath tub SCENE... I'M Good!! Lol... How can fans contact you in the future (myspace, email, PO box, etc.)??

Big Worm: Anybody tryna get at me for anything such as collabo's, beats, bookings or whatever my email is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or hit my mypace at www.myspace.com/nwormj609
