Bishop was raised by his foster mother/auntie in Chicago.Illnois. Urban Steez: Tell everybody your name and what area you represent?

"Bishop Swagghop" Twin Cities Mn/ Chicago IL

Urban Steez: How did you come up with your music name?

SwaggHop: I was watching 106&Park then heard Nas say Hip Hop is Dead and a lot of other rapper’s saying the same thang blaming the youth of killing Hip Hop… so a month later I had a dream, and in that dream a child “SWAGGHOP” was born Hip Hop’s son. So, I woke up that morning and googled it & didn’t see nothing so that’s how I came up with “SWAGGHOP” Then I thought about 2pac’s “One Nation” theroy & was like wow this could be the rebirth of his idea what he tried to do before he passed. So, I said to myself Imma be Bishop Swagghop which he played “Bishop” in juice and there I was reborn. So my definition of SWAGGHOP is---Hip Hop was Born in New York. Gangsta Rap was born in Cali. Chopped & Screwed was born in the South. So, introducing "SWAGGHOP" was born in the Midwest. Which is a gumbo of all music even R&B, Rock & Roll and Soul, ”SWAGGHOP” is the next generation in music!!

Urban Steez: I see, wow you have a real story to your name.. So, how long have you been doing music and what made you get into music?

SwaggHop: 6 years.What made me get into music was just the passion behind words and reaching people. Music is my therapy it helps me through everyday situations and when I share it to the world that’s my way in giving back, So to make it short and simple it’s the LOVE of sharing my world, thoughts, and feelings with people that can relate tome what made me get into music.

Urban Steez: That’s wassup!! How would you describe your style and why? And what do you feel you can bring to the table as an artist?

SwaggHop: I have a bipolar flow very real, unpredictable, different, a gumbo of all styles put into 1 person. I don’t try to be someone I’m not nor sound like someone else just cause that’s what’s hot now. I am comfortable in my own skin that what makes my sound unique and different. I feel I can bring back the art of music the thought of music the vision behind my music, not just settle for the what hot in music its time for something brand new & I am here..

Urban Steez: Lol Bipolar flow is a good way of describing your flow, I would have to agree. If you had to pick which label to be signed to what would it be and why?

SwaggHop: Shady Records or Atlantic Records cause I feel I can relate to those labels and artist within the label. Also I think ill fit right in the mix..

Urban Steez: What’s the biggest challenge you feel you face as an artist?

SwaggHop: Just getting music industry to except “SWAGGHOP”as HIP HOP’s son & going through the controversy that comes with the territory. But I’m game for the challenge.

Urban Steez: Yea, the guys in the suits don’t really jump on the idea until you buzz gets out of control, that’s what the internet is for. Who would you want to collaborate with in the music industry and why?

SwaggHop: Eminem, Andre 3000, T.I, Tech9, B.O.B, Trey Songs, Bun B, T-Pain, Keri Hilson, Kanye, Sade, Missy Elliot, World Class Hero’s, Pharell, Drake, Lil Wayne, Burga, Neyo, Nipsey Hussle, & the list goes on.. But the reason why is I got a lot of respect for there music and I feel they would bring the best out of me..

Urban Steez: Lol Damn, that’s everybody!! So how do you feel you rank against top music talents today? And why?

SwaggHop: Well, I’m in my own rank I don’t get into trying 2 rank with other artist cause I feel I am in a world of my own. My rank is unknown but also deadly cause I got what it takes to put a major dent in the game when it comes to creating different music, but once I am finally noticed my rank would be unpredictable but also respected. I feel that way only because I except the next generation of music not talk down on them, but they are still are children.

Urban Steez: I see.. What are you working on now and when can fans expect to hear more from you?

SwaggHop: I amworking on my second LP called Unleash The Beast also my mixtape The Bermuda Triangle. My fans can hear more from me justgoogle “SWAGGHOP”, I’m all over the net steady grinding and building so I’m not that hard to find..

Urban Steez: Be sure to run that through us first, you know we like to introduce the world to the “New”. Where do you see yourself a year from now?

SwaggHop: Gaining more respect from the industry, also building my own label and signing my own artist helping there dreams come true. Also starting a foundation for people with Bipolar & helping be learn more about it.

SwaggHop: 2pac, Kanye, Sade, Wayne, Drake, T.I, OutKast, Eminem, Damon Dash, IceCube, N.E.R.D, Nipsy Hussle, Mos Def, Bob Marley, Bump J, 50 cent, UGK, Mobb Deep,& the list goes on to much people to name..

Urban Steez: What do you think of the hip hop/ music world right now?

SwaggHop: Its wide open for change, it needs a breath of fresh air! On another note I’m loving the hands its in with all the new faces and different styles. Its truly awaiting this SWAGGHOP music ..
