Toby Sosanya Born (August 09, 1994) in Nigeria, then later moved to Canada in 2005 and was exposed to different kinds of music such as hip-hop, RnB, and Jazz. At the age of 11, he discovered his love for this thing we call “hip-hop”, and then he began to write songs and record with a computer mic. Growing up Toby was always criticized on his music and got lots of hate for it, but still kept going because he had a big dream of making it big to the "game".

In the summer of 2008 he decided to take a break of rapping and go to the roots of hip-hop, to learn the true meaning of it. Then he later met up with a good friend “Emman aka Thaoneandonly”, who taught him all he needed to know about the music business, he would always get advice from Emman and help anytime he needed it. After releasing a comeback song (Dedicated) in the winter of 2008, Toby felt like he was ready to step back in to the rap game, and continue pursuing his dream of becoming a rap superstar. Emman and Toby decided to release a mixtape which would later be called “Genesis Collaboration” which came out in January 2009. After the release of his first mixtape, Toby felt like he hasn't accomplished none of his goals, so he went back to the studio started writing songs, and he was able to do collaboration with Bramptons hottest artists (Tory Lanez, Suspect, Tech Rymes), he was also book his first couple of performances at his highschool's Black history month assembly and at Club on Queens. After this little buzz, Toby decided to take his passion for hip hop to the next level, by teaming up with "Toronto's Hip hop Mayor" Fred E Fame. Prior to this, Toby and Emman's First single (Across the room) is expected to hit the air waves early 2010, and some major projects are expected to come out soon.

The name “KonFiiDent” is derived from the word confident, and it describes Toby, because he is confident in his music and his self.

Urban Steez: Tell everybody your name and what area you represent?

The names KonFiiDent and I represent Toronto, Canada.

Urban Steez: How did you come up with your music name?

KonFiiDent: The name "KonFiiDent" came from me looking at an article that says "Be Confident In Yourself". At the time I was looking for a stage name to portray myself, then I thought to myself I was confident in my music, so I adoptedthat name and in other to make it more unique I began spelling it with a "K" and two "I’s".

Urban Steez: Interesting … How long have you been doing music and what made you get into music?

KonFiiDent: I've been doing music for two years now, but I've been writing since the age of 11. I've always loved to write my thoughts and feelings down on paper in a form of poetry at a young age, so from then on those little poetry grew into me writing my feelings toinstrumentals and that’s how I got into music.

Urban Steez: How would you describe your style and why? And what do you feel you can bring to the table as an artist?

KonFiiDent: I would describe my style as different and unique, because I’m still a 16 year old teen and I tend to write about what we teenager goes through; the ups and downs of being a teen, but at the same time I make my music hot and catchy. As an artist I bring diversity which a lot of artist don't have, and this helps me reach out to all kinds of fans, and I catch more peoples attention.

Urban Steez: Sounds good. If you had to pick which label to be signed to what would it be and why?

KonFiiDent: I would pick Bad Boy entertainment. They bring the best out of their artists to produce chart topping hits.

Urban Steez: Lol P. Diddy would be on your head making sure your music come out right, but as an artist you need that for sure. What’s the biggest challenge you feel you face as an artist.

KonFiiDent: As an artist the biggest challenge would be dealing with being taking serious and "hate", because as an up and coming artist nobody feels you have what it takes, so they try to bring you down in all kinds of ways and alsoby hating on your music. But what I've learned is not to listen to all that instead just keep going and chase your dream to success.

Urban Steez: Hate is motivation, if absorbed correctly! Who would you want to collaborate with in the music industry and why?

KonFiiDent: I would love to do a collaboration with Rihanna, because I love her style and voice. I think her and I would be perfect on a track.

Urban Steez: I can see that … So how do you feel you rank against top music talents today? And why?

KonFiiDent: I feel that my music is as hot as theirs, and I am able to compete with some of top music talents, Because every song I do I try make it my best track and bring something different and hot to the table, which is the same thing they do.

Urban Steez: What are you working on now and when can fans expect to hear more from you?

KonFiiDent: Right now I am in works of promoting my new single "City Lights" on the radio, and I'm working on shooting a HD music video for it which should be coming out sometime in October. Fans canexpect to hear from me more hot and chart toping singles.

Urban Steez: Be sure to send that video my way, so we can blast it on the site. Where do you see yourself a year from now?

KonFiiDent: I see myself signing a record deal, growing musically, and staying on top of my game.

Urban Steez: That’s wassup! Who and what are your influences?

KonFiiDent: I've been influenced by artist like lupe fiasco, Michael Jackson, T.I, and lil wayne. I feel that they all bring something different to the game. I am also influenced by unsigned artist because I feel we keep grinding and competing to make the hottest songs to be at the top.

Urban Steez: Righteous! What do you think of the hip hop/ music world right now?

KonFiiDent: I feel that the hip hop/music world right now is in an ok shape due to new kats such as drake, j.cole etc. and the artist that still make hot music such as eminem and wayne.

Urban Steez: What music do you have playing in your sound system right now?

KonFiiDent: Right now I have Nicki Minaj, Eminem playing and my new single "City Lights" on repeat.

Urban Steez: Who is your celebrity crush?

KonFiiDent: I would have to say Amber Rose, and Nicki Minaj.
