Summer Update:

I hope everyone is having a fun, productive summer; mine has been interesting to say the least!

So here is a quick update on the Gulf Oil Spill, my heart goes out to all people in the Gulf. Urbansteez is in full support of the cleanup efforts and bringing justice to those effected by this atrocity.

• l On August 4^th the Obama Administration declared that 74% of the oil from the spill had been evaporated, burned, skimmed, recovered, or dispersed.I personally think this is a bunch of bull! According to Greenpeace no more than ¼ has been cleaned up and 3-4 million barrels of oil remain in the Gulf. F*ckery if you ask me..
• Thousands of gallons of toxic dispersants have been use to break the oil down and essentially send it beneath the surface. The long-term environmental and health effects on the ocean and coastal population are unknown.
• l The long term effects on commercial and recreational fishing industries are unknown. I just pray that someday the people of the Gulf can regain their livelihood.

To add more fuel to the fire my alma mater the University of California Berkeley (Go Bears!) has embarked in a public private partnership with BP to build a solar/clean energy research center. I'm personally disappointed...WTF Berkeley Progressive, I don't think so! Is BP going to allowed to keep the profits that come from research innovation??? I can guess the answer unfortunately.

Also the State of California has allowed BP to begin permitting and development of a “clean coal”project; to make things worse the project is partially funded by stimulus $$$..our $$$. Ok Enough of my ranting..lol
