Born September 6, 1988 a resident of New Orleans
Louisiana, David Baptiste aka C.I.T.Y (city) first discovered his
musical talent at the age of 10. Coming from a strong jazz background
music is in his blood. His great grand father Louis barbarian and great
uncle Paul barbarian can be considered as two of the founders in the
movement of jazz music. Growing up in the hard streets of the 7th
ward New Orleans would not be and easy task at a early age facing a
harsh reality. Coming up under his older cousins he found music as a
way out. Getting older he discovered he could also use this as another
way in. growing a love and a passion for expressing himself, but also
noticing and addiction to the streets and fast money. I quote " rapping
was just another hobby until my junior year of high school." were he
decide to follow his passion and become one of the best people doing it. City
decided if he was going to do it then lets do it different and give
people something they can remember. So for that he mixes his rhyme up
soulful, gangster, real rap, club rap, and just being lyrical and is
known for doing things with his talent some rappers cant do. August
25,2005 was one of the biggest turning points in city's life. While
being forced to relocate to Dallas TX he realize what's real that life
is to short anything can happened and would happened and he had no
control over life but he could control music. So after getting over the
shock of losing his home he got on his grind and hook up with child
hood friend BUD and formed YNC and eventually hooked up with Hood a
long time friend and connected with DFG creating a family. Also keeping
it going with his uncles and cousin G staxs . Now
you see what we have created. " At first it was a hard battle people
saying my lyrics were whack and I wasn't hard enough. If it wasn't for
my family and my real G'5 I wouldn't be where I am today." Now
recording from his own studio C.I.T.Y currently has over 150 tracks on
deck and is patiently waiting for the game to slip up and let him threw
the door. He will become a musical icon being one of the best versatile
rappers doing it now!! So tell the game to pay attention....... C.I.T.Y
