Aaron Jones was born on July 12th, 1991 in Los Angeles, California, but he's better known by his stage name of Killah Matriks. He has something that alot of artist don't have, he has the ability to connect with audiences of all backgrounds. He has some fans that have told him before listening to him that they thought all hip-hop/rap was the same. He credits Lupe Fiasco, Skyzoo, and Jay-Z for being his main inspirations. They all have taught him different things. Lupe Fiasco taught him that just because he was nerd it didn't mean that he couldn't be cool. Skyzoo taught him that just because you are mainstream doesn't mean you have to dumb your music down and Jay-Z taught him how to take his lyrics to another level. He has took all that inspiration and ran with it. He has continued to shine on whatever song he was on. Because his style is so diverse he doesn't just have to stick with-in one genre. He can go from punchline crazy to wordplay like some of the greats in the industry. Also he has alot of people DatPiff's community forum and on myspace that are waiting on the drop of his mixtape Killah TeckNiQs. As of right now Killah Matriks is completing Killah TeckNiQs while working on the next mixtape which will be the first installment in the Bar Spitta Jones series."

Matriks: The Name is Killah Matriks aka Bar Spitta Jones and I'm from Cali but I rep the 614 Columbus Ohio to the fullest.

Urbansteez.com: How long have you been pursuing a career in the music industry?

Matriks: Been rappin since I was like 9, but took it serious around 14 realized this is what I wanted to do at 16

Urbansteez.com: Since 9, you got some years under your belt then... So, What were you into before music?

Matriks: Before music I was like really into cars and video games lol. But then I heard Paid In Full and I fell in love with music and the rest is history.

Urbansteez.com I got cha...As an artist how would you describe your style and why?

Matriks: My style is mainstream lyrical because I make music in hopes of gettin signed to major contract but I'm lyrical and I refuse to make dumb music.

Urbansteez.com: If you had your pick which label to be signed to, which label would it be and why?

Matriks: I'm cool with Skyzoo so maybe Custom Made Entertainment but besides that StarTek, Good Music or Roc-A-Fella.

Urbansteez.com: Who in your future would you want to collaborate with and why?

Matriks: Skyzoo because dude is a lyrical genius in my opinion. Corinne Bailey Rae because she has one of the prettiest voices and makes good music. Jay-Z because he's godmc n i'd love to see if I could hang with him on a track and Lupe Fiasco because he is from the midwest like me so it would probably be a great track. Two lyrical cats goin at it. THATS HIP HOP!

Urbansteez.com: Corine Bailey Rae, that would be something special, yaDigg! her voice in a hip hop track would be a breath of fresh air...What are you working on now, and when can we expect to hear more of you?

Matriks: Umm as of now, we (TeckNiQ n I) are finishing up that Killah TeckNiQs joint. The first single is called "I Will Be Here" and it is doing good sooo far. And besides that I'm just grindin like always.

Urbansteez.com: Who are your influences?

Matriks: Umm my influnces would definately be Jay-Z, Rakim, Skyzoo, Chaundon, and Lupe because those emcees are some of the best and they have all shaped me into the emcee I am today.

Urbansteez.com What do you think of the hip hop / music world right now?

Matriks: Man hip hop is real fucked up right now. Dope shit is recorded and it's gettin ignored. All the dope artist are gettin unheard but hopefully I'm the one to break that thread and bring lyrical meaningful hip hop back to the radio.

Urbansteez.com: I see, thats wassup!Where do you see yourself a year from now?

Matriks: In a year, I see myself grindin. Doing shows alot enjoying the success of my tapes and hopefully being one step closer to signing that deal.

Urbansteez.com: What will you do with your first royalty check? Unsigned Hype Killah Matriks

Matriks: Invest it because that's how you make the Jay-Z and Diddy money. Invest some and spend some. I'm not tryna be in major debt like MC Hammer...no offense Hammer.

Urbansteez.com: When you make it big, what car will you first purchase?

Matriks: A nice little Honda Civic. I've always wanted one. So why not buy it then lol.

Urbansteez.com: What's in your sound system right now?

Matriks: Ummm right now I'm coolin it with that Corner Store Classic by Skyzoo, The Cool by Lupe Fiasco and Cloud 9 by Skyzoo.

Urbansteez.com: which female in the game would you pursue first and why?

Matriks: WOWWWW thats a hard ass question but I'm go with Natasha Ramos she is the baddest girl I've seen in the industry. If not her then probably Keyshia Cole cuz shes sexy too.
