Creative, Innovator, Entrepreneur, and
MC are just a few words to describe Sem-One. Having spent the past 6
years developing a sound and product he would be proud of releasing,
the time has come to release what has become the first iTape,
"One Foot In The Game/ One Foot In The Grave." Evolving
with today's market, Sem-One brings you the future through his innovative
lyrics, music, and campaign. Sem-One
is releasing the first i-Tape, a multi media album that
includes the full length LP, photo gallery, album art work, HTML codes,
and music video for "Elevator Musick." Revolutionizing
the game the i-Tape is more than a multimedia album on a USB flash,
it's your medi-sem for hip hop. Creatively designed
in a pill shaped USB flash and packaged in a medicine vial, you can
get your medi-sem for hip hop, THE iTAPE. In an age where new music is out everyday because of an overload of opportunities online, Sem-One wants to make sure he is contributing to Hip-Hop. Breaking the mold is just one way to describe Sem-One, his "fuck you" attitude may catch your attention but it's his message that will push him ahead of other MCs in the scene. Sem-One is that special artist that will make you think beyond the bling and stag music we have become accustom to and learned to like. Sem-One has a clear goal, to entertain and not cheat his audience. Everything Sem-One releases has plan and a clear message, orchestrated like a movie or composing a song. In an age where the beat makes the music Sem-One is using his words as an instrument in composing each song he does. Ten years ago Sem-One was coming up through the fundamentals of hip hop and started doing graffiti, his tag name was SEM =Sun, Earth, and Moon. ONE soon followed when he developed into an artist. Growing up in Brooklyn Hip Hop was his culture and he soon realized he had a way of expressing himself. He began battling kids in the neighborhood and realized it was more than winning a battle. He began writing about his surrounding and having grown up in the projects across the street from the park where he was exposed to gang activity, drugs, and bad influences, he wrote about what he knew best. He had his first blunt at the age of 12 opening an array of ideas and a new writing style. He was a shy kid and suddenly became more open, he started writing for other MCs. Sem-One remembers listening to Wu-Tang and falling in love with hip hop but never considered himself to be the performer, he was content with writing for others. Soon enough he caught the bug of being an MC and performing, he rapidly developed a style of rhyming fast to impress people. As he developed as a lyricist he decided he would slow down and learn to control his lyrics, delivery, and style. As an MC who was starting off Sem-One would write and write, he would make songs with no order, no hook, and the goal was to rhyme. Once he got the hang of writing he realized he can do this and began to compose songs. Sem-One did not have good production or hot beats and decided the only way to shine was to make the words more powerful than the beat. The lyrics became the main instrument in Sem-One's songs. Sem-One feels his school for music was having "ok" beats he can make hot, he believes anyone can rock a hot beat. In addition to that he also had another unusual way to create music, he uses the method of movie making to create songs, and being a big movie fan it's only natural to him. Sem-One has developed the art of story telling he sees his music as a message that should be delivered in an entertaining style. His words are not literal, if you listen to his songs, he builds a plot, characters, voices, themes, and a message. From then on he decided not only to be different but consistent. Sem-One believes his only competition is his last rhyme and how he can continue to evolve. He wants you to remember what he said, how he said it, even if you don't like it, you will remember. As long as he feels comfortable with his work, and it's not about having "one" hit, it's about finding the 2nd, and 3rd hit, Sem-One will continue to make music. Sem-One wants to be recognized as a musician who plays "Words" just as a musician would be recognized for playing the piano. He doesn't believe that selling 10 million copies of song that is consider being a jingle should notarize you as a musician. "I am here to stay, hate me, love me, but you will remember me, and I'll say the craziest shit that will get you to think" Says Sem-One. His first reaction is the right one and he will say and write about what he thinks should be said no matter who it pisses off. His message, creative methods of word play, and art are all God sent and there is no other way to explain it.

Sem One is 'crazy like cat shit' !!! Dammm, I'm impressed... I checked some of his tracks on his myspace page, and I can't recall an unsigned artist with such polished skills, catchy word-play, and ever-changing flow. The productions on-point and the music video definately keeps you entertained....I'm surprised it took this long for someone to come out with this idea of an ' iTape'. I won't be surprised to be hearing more about this guy in the following months
