Unsigned Hype Verbal Murda

Verbal Murda, AKA M.U., is from York, PA. M.U. is ready to start the path to becoming one of the music industries next Hip Hop success stories. M.U.s wordplay is matched by his ability to make hit songs.

M.U. started out writing rhymes at age 12, but like most beginning M.C.s, M.U. kept his rhymes to himself. At age 15, M.U. was convinced by a friend, who also wrote rhymes, to join his Rap group. With his friend and another M.C. they formed the group CASO. With his new group members M.U. (who back then went by the name 14th) honed their skills working with local beat makers. In 1998 CASO released a series of Mixtapes that captured the hearts and minds of York PA and its surrounding communities. CASO continued releasing solo and group Mixtapes and independent projects over the next few years, earning a reputation for his lyrical ability and showmanship.

During this time, M.U. and the group CASO, opened up for major recording artists such as: Jay Z, D Block, Nore, KRS 1, Keith Murray and a host of others. Unfortunately in 2001, M.U.s partners were incarcerated, leaving M.U. to focus on his solo career. In 2002 M.U. released his first solo Mix CD, The League of Extraordinary Men. More recently M.U. has released a double Mix CD, Murda in the 1st Degree, which sold over 5000 copies in the south central P.A. region. M.U. has also won a number of M.C. battles.

The most recent, Dj Kay Slays Whos Hot Battle , which landed him on Hot97 Drama Hour with Dj Kay Slay. On Hot97, Kay Slay featured an interview with M.U. , Got Doe and a freestyle from M.U.. M.U. has also been feature on the Whos Hot DVD released in November of 2005. He will also be featured on The V.I.P section DVD along with a host if others. M.U. has also recently shred the stage with major label artists D Block, Drag on, Cassidy and Juelz Santana.M.U. has a new independent release called Da Proof . With this release M.U. has turned his attention to catching the attention of a record label that can help make him the music industries next hip hop success story.

Verbal M : Antoine Beard aka Verbal Murda aka M.U.-Representing YC(York City, PA)

Urbansteez.com: How long have you been pursuing a career in the music industry?

Verbal M : About 10 years. But I took it serious for about 8, once I got with my manager D-Wil from MNS Media Group. We formed a click called CASO featuring M.O., Grip, Isym, Ryhno, Ego and myself. We became the hometown click to represent, and the rest is history.

Urbansteez.com: What were you into before music?

Verbal M : School, (lol) naw you know we grind it out in the street try to make a living, but this rap think was always my passion. So I stuck with it.

Urbansteez.com: As an artist how would you describe your style and why?

Verbal M : I am very versitile, what else would you expect from someone names Verbal Murda.(ha). I go hard for the streets, but I know what the ladies like, also. My song "Sex Games" ft. Plies on the hook really, tells the ladies all about me. But my song "Murda on The Black Top" tell the streets what it's hitting for. Feel me.

Urbansteez.com: If you had your pick which label to be signed to, which label would it be and why?

Verbal M : Well, I have spoken to several labels and they all want that ringtone stuff. Thats all good but there is still other forms of hip hop that don't need to be ringtoney(if thats a word) in order to be a fan favorite. So right now my management along with my production team DJ 5053 of NFL Productions and the hot producers from the UK, Ikonox, keep doing what they are doing we can keep it independent. But if it's was a major it would be Jive Records or Koch Entertainment. Koch and I have a good relationship, we will see what happens.

Urbansteez.com: Yea Thats wassup!!! Who in your future would you want to collaborate with and why?

Verbal M : I would like to do a song with Nas, Keisha Cole's, Chris Brown, T-Pain and this R&B artist named Eddie Kane. Honestly it's however, I get it in. Got something I'm working on with Babs' Bunny from Da Band, you'll look out for her, she got some fire coming.

Urbansteez.com: Anything you do with them artist is garanteed platinum, I feel ya!!...What are you working on now, and when can we expect to hear more of you?

Verbal M : My mixtape is coming out May 10th in stores, however it will be available for download soon @ Unsigned Hype Verbal Murda www.reverbnation.com/verbalmu My album will follow that in July, released through MNS Media Group.

Verbal M : I like Jay Z, Nas, Beenie, Beyonce, many people.

Verbal M : It needs a balance of music not one sound. However digital downloads, give us back some power.

Urbansteez.com: What will you do with your first royalty check?

Verbal M : Invest in real estate.

Verbal M : Something hot, not sure. I like nice things, so it will be hot.
