Backpack Mak a.k.a K-mak born and raised in LA, California is one of the freshest and most trendsetting hip-hop artists coming out of the Los Angeles area at the time. The new west coast movement is upon us and his unique style and grace will soon be heard worldwide. With his debut mixtape, along with another rising star and fellow We Major Ent. MC C-san he established his early buzz with the hit single and video "310”. Mak brings an old school backpack rapper feel to the game but he can also switch it up to where he can do a common type track and then do a young jeezy type track. Urbansteez:How long have you been pursuing a career in the music industry? K-Mak: Ive been writing since I was 12 but I started recording when I was 17 im 19 now Urbansteez:As an artist how would you describe your style and why? K-Mak: hmm thats hard. maybe a old school ice cube/mobb deep feel but with nas type lyrics. it really switches up into alot of stuff that makes up my style. "lyrical gumbo" Urbansteez:If you had your pick which label to be signed to, which label would it be and why? K-Mak: Interscope or def jam i mean they have the best and biggest artist in my eyes. Urbansteez: Who in your future would you want to collaborate with and why? K-Mak: jay z , lupe , snoop , kanye , game , joe budden ,nas , the cool kids , ghostface , little brother , common , consequence ,to many to list. and i choose them because these are either the people that inspire me or thats hot right now.
