As controversial as Hip Hop has become over the last decade, one might think that adding a new rapper to the game known as “The Transformer” may seem a little over the top, but 22 year old born Christopher Brown, A.K.A. PR1ME, could be the solution to what the hip-hop world has been searching for. Be ready for this young mastermind who is aggressive and ready to transform the entire rap industry by doing what he does best, Creating music to magnetize those who listen This Long Beach Native is no stranger to the studio, ever since his seventeenth birthday where he wrote his first song entitled "Dedicated To You," which gained the respect of his peers, and has spent every birthday in the studio ever since. Pr1me has come a long way, from getting kicked out of the house on the day of graduation, to having to migrate from home to home. In his world no home was permanent. Trouble was thirsty and times got scarce. He turned to a life of crime and found himself facing time in a juvenile detention center. He was later released and close family turned their backs on him. There were no more hands to be held out for the young MC. Pr1me had no choice but to live in his truck; no home sweet home vibes were to be felt for the young man, but that did not knock his pride. He kept it moving, and wrote everything he had dealt with, and the sentiments that he felt inside his head, and on paper. His music is not just about fame, and money, or fabricates ways of living; it’s authentic like his persona and the meaning of his name, "PR1ME". Not only that but his music and himself is out of sync, and compared to none. No one can deny the aptitude and appeal of the optimums PR1ME. You have probably seen his name on DJ Warrior and DJ Strong’s "West Coast Mixtape Kings Vol. 1" and "Ill Street Dues" (Next 2 Blow section) Snoop Dogg’s mixtape "Welcome to the Chuuch", Bad Azz’s Mixtape and the list goes on. He remains what he is; a talented MC, who is raw and on top of his game. He will reignite the sparks of the state of HIP HOP and reintroduce it on another level; his own that is.........

Urbansteez: How long have you been rapping?

Prime: I HAVE BEEN AN MC FOR 12 YEARS BUT A PROFESSIONAL FOR 3 YEARS

Urbansteez: How did you come up with your rap name?

Prime: I WAS ALWAYS A BIG FAN OF THE TRANSFORMERS, PRIME WAS A LEADER AND HE NEVER LET HIS TEAM DOWN.PLUS HE CHANGED HIMSELF AS A DEFENSE TO FIT HIS SUROUNDINGS. THAT’S SOMETHING THAT I LIKED ABOUT THE CARTOON SO I NAMED MYSELF PRIME. NOT ONLY THSAT BUT THE DEFINITION DESCRIBES WHO I AM. NUMBER 1, ODD, STANDS OUT FROM THE REST, READY FOR FIRE, AND BEYOND AVERAGE, IM #1.

Urbansteez: What made you take it to the next step in music?

Prime: I THOUGHT RAPPIN WAS JUST A HOBBY AT FIRST, YOU KNOW THAT WHOLE BATTLE FOR BRAWN WAS IN WHEN I FIRST STARTED RAPPIN. I STARTED SEEING THAT PEOPLE WERE GETTING PAID TO BATTLE ON RECORDS,A LOT OF CATS FELT MY FLOW AND STARTED ASKIN QUESTIONS LIKE WHEN IS MY MUSIC COMMIN OUT, WHAT AM I WORKIN ON AND SO FORTH. SO THEY BELIEVED IN ME, I STARTED BELIEVING TOO.

Prime: THE CITY BY THE SEA LONG BEACH CALIFORNIA

Urbansteez: Who was your favorite rapper growing up and why?

Prime: MY FAVORITE MC AND STILL IS, RAKIM ALLAH THE GOD! HE WAS A SWIFT CREATIVE WITTY MC. THAT’S WHERE I LEARNED MY STYLE FROM.

Urbansteez: What type of rapper would you describe yourself?

Prime: AGGRESSIVE, PASSIONATE, STREET PUNK LOL. IM YOUR FEELINGS I AM REALITY THE RIGHTS AND WRONGS OF THE THINGS THAT CAN CREATE YOU.

Urbansteez: What makes you different from any other rapper?

Prime: BECAUSE I EXPRESS HOW I FEEL WITH OUT REGARD OF HOW YOU FEEL. SOME LIVE OFF THINGS THAT INSPIRE (PARTY, $$ MONEY$$, BLING, WOMAN, ETC.) I CREATE BY THINGS THAT DISENCHANTS US. THE ODDS AND EVENS OF THE THINGS THAT CAN CREATE YOU BASSICALLY MEANS THE REAL YOU AND THE FAKE YOU, I TEND TO RAP ABOUT THE REAL YOU THAT COMES OUT OF A BAD SITUATUION MADE GOOD.

Urbansteez: Who would you most want to record in the studio with and why?

Prime: THAT’S A TOUGH 1, BUT I WOULD HAVE TO SAY PHARRELL, JAY-Z, KANYE WEST, 50CENT, OUT KAST, AND DR DRE. I SAY THESES ARTIST BECAUSE MOST OF THESE ARTIST ARE INSPIRATIONAL, AND OTHERS ARE DRIVIN BY PURE GENIOUS. IT’S NO COINCIDENTS TO STAY IN THE GAME FOR 20 YEARS AND REMAIN SUCCESSFUL. AND SOME KNOW JUST HOW TO PUSH THE RIGHT BUTTONS TO GET WHAT THEY WANT.

Urbansteez: What were you into before Rap?

Prime: TROUBLE!!!…….LOL, LOTS OF TROUBLE WITH THE LAW, BUT I USED TO DRAW. DRAWING AND SPORTS, I WAS VERY ARTISTIC AS A CHILD GROWING UP. MY THING WAS CREATING, I COULD LOOK AT SOMETHING AND DRAW IT.

Urbansteez: Where do you see yourself in a year?
