Universal Speakers Unsigned Hype

Universal Speakers are 3 females hailing out of Long Beach, CA, with the sounds of reggae, hip hop and R&B extracting from their souls. It all started from the simple bedroom recording off the tape deck to PC's..they've grown with the times. And with the support and love that they get from their fans, these ladies push forward the positive vibes of music. Having performed at various places locally and out of the city, they have built themselves a solid fan base. Using their own creative motto of "you can find US between the mic (mUSic)" has set them to establish their own sounds and styles. So on that note, you, the listener be the judge of what you hear. All critisms are welcome with open arms. ***RESPECT***

Unsigned Artist Universal Speakers

Interview with Versitile 1/3 of Universal Speakers

Urbansteez: Tell us your name, and what area do you represent?

Lisa (Versatile) representing summertime in the LBC

Urbansteez: How long have you been pursuing a career in the music industry?

Versatile: Not so much pursuing a career in the music industry. More like pursuing my love and passion forUniversal Speakers music

Urbansteez: What were you into before music?

Versatile: I’ve always been into music. It was either pick up a mic or turntables and the mic came into play

Urbansteez: As an artist how would you describe your style and why?

Versatile: As an individual, I’m mellow and sweet. Believe that. But as a group, we’re diverse in our genres of music

Urbansteez: If you had your pick, which label to be signed to, which label would it be and why?

Versatile: None. Never got into this music for the fame & fortune. Just want to spread positive vibes

Urbansteez: Strictly for the luv of hip hop, thats wassup! Okay the so let me ask you this ,who in your future would you want to collaborate with and why?

Versatile: This is a long shot but hey, I can wish right? Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Common. Love them fellas

Urbansteez: What are you working on now, and when can we expect to hear more of you?

Versatile: We’re currently working on our 2nd group project called “Universal Love”. Consists of reggae, hip-hop, and some r&b. Hopefully it’ll be out by summer or the end of summer

Urbansteez: What do you think of the hip hop / music world right now?

Versatile: I got this cool shirt that says “Radio killed Hip-hop” Haha. But on a serious note, hip hop has changed. I’m an old school kinda female and love my hip-hop. I’m not going to put down what plays on the radio now and days, but to those who know what good music is, then I don’t need to say much. Music has and will always transition throughout the years. It’s really up to ones taste to depict the difference.

Universal Speakers InterviewUrbansteez: What will you do with your first royalty check?

Versatile: Shoot…buy a lifetime supply of Snickerdoodle cookies from 7/11. But I don’t think we’re getting any royalty checks.

Urbansteez: When you make it big, what car will you first purchase?

Versatile: Realistically, I’m not looking to make it big. Or make it for that matter. But I wouldn’t mind an Aston Martin Vanquish. Can you say SEXY?!?!

Urbansteez: How can fans contact you in the future (myspace, email, PO box, etc.)??

Versatile: www.myspace.com/universalspeakers, This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Urbansteez: ANY SHOT OUTS???

Versatile: I would like to give shout outs to my parents who’ve always supported me even when they gave me that doubtful face when I told them about getting into music. My 2 brothers for being the critiques they are. My close friends, you know who you guys and gals are. Sequence Events, Surf Ninja Crew, Evolution, Killer Tomatoes, and everyone that I missed in here, I got you all in my heart. One love and see you at the next show.
